About the role

As a Procurement Officer, you will be at the forefront of our purchasing and supply chain operations, ensuring that the highest quality goods and services are sourced at the most competitive prices.

You’ll manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement policies to streamline and improve processes. Your role is pivotal in maintaining cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products, ultimately supporting the operational success of our organisation.

This role is based on site, and you will work with a collaborative, vibrant and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller providing information on purchasing requirements, purchase commitments, open purchase orders with lead times and accurate purchasing forecast and inventory holding.
  • Developing accurate weekly and monthly forecast data with financial exposure.
  • Working closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilising a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Providing input to the Supply Planning organisation in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Preparing, reporting, and communicating forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets).
  • Monitoring the accuracy of inventory levels at warehouses to ensure supply meets demand.
  • Identifying and reporting on inventory trends and slow-moving items.
  • Using NetSuite to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding component supply and negotiating the best price.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers and monitor and advise warehouse and manufacturing on estimated delivery times.
  • Assist with stock control and maintenance of inventory including stocktake, adjustments and verification.
  • Follow the Quality procedures and financial controls in place.
  • Liaise with production and warehouse staff.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for candidates with the following:

  • Demonstrated experience of working in a manufacturing environment, specifically with purchasing and stock control.
  • Inventory Management, Procurement & Demand Planning
  • Microsoft Word / Excel proficiency.
  • NetSuite preferred.
